1986 – graduated from RUDN University, Historical and Philological Faculty, specialty “International Journalism”.
1991 – defended PhD thesis titled “Soviet rural sketch in literature magazines. Conflicts, character, genre”.
2003 – head of the Department of Mass Communication.
2006 – defended his doctoral thesis titled “Issue of culture on the air of the state radio of post-Soviet Russia”.

Barabash e.g. “Media education: Collection of studies” (M., MediaPress, 2014), “Media education: Collection of guidance and presentation materials”.
V.V. Barabash is a co-author of books on imagology and information wars e.g. “Images of Russia in the world” (М., АIRO-XXI, 2011) and “State propaganda and information wars” (М., АIRO-XXI, 2015), and is an author of numerous scientific articles and monographs on the topical issues of journalism and mass communication.
