Profession focus

The program is aimed at training specialists in the field of forensic expert activities. Due to the fact that forensic technologies are of a transnational and unified nature, it is possible to train specialists in the standardization of forensic activities within the framework of the International Technical Committee on Forensic Sciences, cooperation of the SCO member states, as well as interaction with the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI).

Learning  process

Training includes current problems of law studies, fundamentals of substantive and procedural law, basics of criminalistics and forensic science, methodology and technology of forensic examination supplemented by a large number of practical exercises, including forensics training, as well as analysis of judicial and expert practice based on long-term practical experience of forensic expert institutions under the Ministry of Justice of Russia.

The program is based on the use of a modular integrative principle of constructing curricula (syllabuses) of disciplines by choice. Generality of the Curriculum on the specialization "Forensic expert activities in law enforcement" provides for the possibility of co-education as of bachelors in law (already having the first level of legal education) and bachelors in other areas of training (not having basic legal education). At the end of the master's programme, the students work on a master's thesis in the chosen direction of the programme corresponding to a specific expert specialty.

All disciplines are taught by teachers, combining their work with practical activities, in particular, at the  Russian Federal Center of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
