About the profession

Regional Studies expertise is a relatively new vocational area. Regional Studies Program views the world in its whole variety; it is well-defined and provides an exhaustive look upon states and regions. Regional Studies Program prepares experts on a particular region, state or group of states. Theory and History of International Relations Department participates in Double Master Program in cooperation with partner universities within the University of The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Framework.

It is no secret that today’s world requires that professionals should be in possession of cross-disciplinary skills. And this is what Regional Studies Program provides for. A Regional Studies specialist is a historian, political scientist, diplomat, economist, lawyer, and linguist combined. A profound knowledge of the economy, geography, history, demography, language and culture of the region enables Regional Studies graduates to find employment in various fields. A Regional Studies graduate is well-prepared to provide professional translation, participate in shaping international agenda, develop investment projects, conduct statistical research and consult on the problems of the region.

Educational Process
