An art of state management, which dates back to the first civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China and India, is an ancient human activity. Theory and practice are well-balanced within the program. Bachelors of state and municipal management are trained to have competence in arranging territory management systems, providing rational management of economic and social processes on state, region, cities, districts and other municipal formations levels in accordance with modern tendencies in improving state and municipal management.
Providing Bachelor Degree Program 38.03.04 “State and municipal management” we use innovative teaching model: competency building approach, modular approach, active, inter-active and other modern educational technologies.
Third and forth-year students are trained:
- State and municipal management;
- Management of developing city, municipal formation;
- Social development of territory management;
- Infrastructure provision of territorial development.
“Basic concepts of state and municipal management”, “State and municipal service”, “Making and enforcing state decisions”, “Ethics of state and municipal service”, “Basics of document management”, “Business communications”, “Project management” and others.
Students do an internship on all the levels of municipal and state power structures: in district councils, municipalities, prefectures, State Duma of the Russian Federation, committees and ministries of the RF, Audit Chamber of the RF, regional structures of territorial entities.
We adhere to the principle of academic mobility. Students can do an internship and traineeship in leading Russian and foreign higher education institutions and academic organizations.
The program is implemented in cooperation with Shandong University (China).
During training students can do their internship in foreign higher education institutions which the department of state and municipal management cooperate with:
- Twente university (the Netherlands)
- Grenoble university (France)
- Potsdam university (Germany)
Graduates of Bachelor`s program 38.03.04 “State and municipal management” can apply their knowledge in the field of state and municipal management and in a related sector: civil society institutions, non-governmental and non-profit organizations, international organizations and governing bodies, scientific research and educational organizations and institutions.
