RUDN pedologists found out that the efficiency is affected not only by the amount and content of fertilizers, but also by the part of the bed they are applied to. The scientists made experiments in the Loess Plateau (an ancient agricultural region in Central China) and discovered the most optimal method - to till the soil and then to add the mulching and nitrogen-containing fertilizers to the ridge.
The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is working on a collaboration program with African universities, with the backing of the Moscow government, that will see Russian culture and language taught in universities on the continent. It will also provide scholarships to study maths and sciences at the RUDN, in a deal to be implemented in universities in nine African countries. In a deal that is likely to commence this year, the Russian institution will identify partner universities in Angola, Zambia, Namibia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Gambia, Nigeria and Ghana.

The aim of this study was to demonstrate the absolute necessity of control experiments for a correct interpretation of mercury drop test results when applied to mechanistic studies of palladacycle-catalyzed reactions. It was shown that the interaction of diverse azapalladacycles with metallic mercury leads to the formation of organomercuric chlorides during the redox-transmetalation process.
A team of scientists from the Medical Institute of RUDN University compared two factors of vascular aging—CF-PWV and CAVI. Both of these parameters determine arterial stiffness, the main indicator of vascular aging, with high precision. However, they are influenced by age and certain metabolism abnormalities in different ways. The study is expected to help cardiologists find effective diagnostic methods for individual patients. The results of the work were published in the Journal of Hypertension.
Light therapy (phototherapy) is used to treat sleep disorders, depression, and seasonal mental disorders. In order to study its effects on the cardiovascular system (especially in case of stable increase in blood pressure) and to make phototherapy safer for patients suffering from hypertension, experts from RUDN University were carrying out experiments on rats for five months.
