A pharmacist is a broad-field specialist in possession of knowledge about all existing medicines, their types and characteristics. A degree in Pharmacy provides for a variety of careers, despite a common belief that it is confined to sales of pharmaceutical drugs. In fact, another no less important area is research. Pharmacists are very much in demand in laboratories and research institutes. Many of the Program graduates have successful careers at pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. They work directly with pharmaceutical drugs as well as with instruments and technologies ensuring conditions for development, production, quality control, and drug circulation control in the sphere of healthcare. All in all Pharmacy is an integral part of healthcare system of any civilized country.

Classes are held in laboratories, IT rooms, lecture halls and theaters equipped with modern teaching and laboratory equipment. Student research and practice are carried out at such premises as All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, RAMS Research Institute of Pharmacology, All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics, Shemyakin-Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Ivanovsky Institute of Virology, Russian Center for Forensic Science, Pharmanalysis Control and Analytical Laboratory, pharmaceutical organizations in Moscow and Moscow region.
In compliance with educational standards the specialists in Pharmaceutical Science are trained to fulfill the following types of professional tasks: pharmaceutical (production and handcrafting of medicinal products, sales of medicinal products, medicinal drugs storage and transportation management, medicinal drug circulation control activities, quality control, statutory information dissemination, sanitary education, healthy lifestyle promotion); organizational and managerial (medicinal drugs production management, management of activities related to storage, transportation, confiscation and destruction of medicinal drugs, organizational and managerial tasks with organizations engaged in the medicinal drugs circulation, organizational tasks in labor protection, safety and prevention of occupational diseases, monitoring of compliance with environmental safety, accounting and reporting documentation maintenance in pharmaceutical organizations, basic information security compliance monitoring); research (scientific works and statistical data analysis, public presentation of findings, participation in scientific research and solving applied problems in the sphere of medicinal drugs circulation).
