Profession

The profession of a manager-engineer involves managerial and organizational activities in manufacturing companies. Graduates of the programme know how production functions, how to increase its efficiency using modern methods of financial planning, forming the optimal logistics schemes, and introducing innovative technologies at all stages of the production process. The competencies formed within the framework of the programme allow specialists to modernize production in accordance with market requirements and create a competitive business.
Those trained in the programme can create their own small high-tech start-ups, hold the positions of heads of implementation projects, as well as work in planning and economic departments, production departments, quality management services, logistics, etc.

Educational Process

The programme has been created using the best foreign educational practices in the programmes of Master of Engineering Management (similar to the MBA, but for managing manufacturing companies); it involves a large component of practice-oriented courses.
The curriculum is based on the principles of interdisciplinarity: the subjects of a technical orientation – cloud technologies in enterprise management, data mining and decision making, etc., are organically connected with the courses of the economic block, such as managerial economics, modern strategic analysis, etc.
Much attention is paid to practical exercises and master classes by leading scientists and specialists representing companies in the high-tech industry, within which a project-group approach is used, and practical cases are analyzed.
The main courses are: Organization and Management of Production, Engineering Innovation and Product Design Management, Finance and Investment in Design Management, Legal Engineering, Project Management, Analysis of Financial and Economic Activities and Management Accounting, Lean Production, Fundamentals of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Practice

As part of this programme, students are provided with undergraduate practice at the following enterprises: AO Helicopters of Russia, AO United Aircraft Corporation, AO Russian Space Systems, AO United Engine Corporation, AO United Instrument Corporation.

Career

Successful completion of the educational programme allows graduates to find employment in manufacturing companies of state corporations as analysts, project managers for production modernization, digital transformation, change management, implementation of a quality management system and lean manufacturing, as well as key account managers and investors.
