About the profession
The residency programme aims to acquire professional competences in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries on the basis of the combined application of modern methods of X-ray diagnostics, including traditional X-ray examination (X-ray diagnostics), X-ray computed tomography and magnetic resonance tomography, angiography; conducting imaging studies in accordance with the medical care standard on medical indications; determining the required scope and rational methods of the imaging study; providing first aid in case of electric and mechanical trauma, reaction to the administration of contrast agents and other medical emergencies arising during the conduct of imaging studies.
The educational residency programme "X-ray radiography" is developed for people with higher medical education, aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the field of X-ray diagnostics, for independent work in public healthcare institutions or in private practice. The training is practically oriented and aimed at the formation of system knowledge and professional competences that allow conducting imaging studies.
Medical residents are distributed to the units of the clinical sites of the department, where, under the guidance of professors of the department, they have the opportunity both to expand their knowledge and see its application in practice. Students analyze clinical events and this provides the opportunity to obtain a wealth of clinical experience during residency training.
A graduate of the residency programme is a highly qualified specialist, who can apply modern high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment and carry out therapeutic, diagnostic, research activities, engage in private medical practice. Graduates of the programme have the opportunity to work in hospitals, clinics, research institutes, diagnostic centers.
