Profession

Microbiology is an extensive science and includes a number of specialized areas: medical, veterinary, agricultural, environmental, technical, etc. The educational program is aimed at training researchers, teachers and researchers who are able to carry out research activities in the field of microbiology sciences and teaching activities in educational programs of higher education, taking into account modern requirements.

Educational Process

The graduate program includes four blocks: educational disciplines (modules), practice, research work, state final certification. Block 1 “Educational disciplines (modules)” has a complexity of 30 credits (1080 hours) and includes the basic and variable parts. The basic part has the complexity of 9 credits (324 hours) and includes two disciplines (modules): Foreign language; History and philosophy of science. The variable part has the complexity of 21 credits (756 hours) and includes the following disciplines (modules): Methodology of scientific research; Pedagogy of higher education; Microbiology. Disciplines (module) for the choice of a graduate student have a complexity of 12 ZET (432 hours). The graduate student selects three disciplines (modules) from all offered. Block 2 “Practice” and block 3 “Scientific research” have a total complexity of 201 ZET (7236 hours) and are a variable part of the graduate school program. Block 4 “State final certification” is basic and has the complexity of 9 credit units (324 hours). State final certification includes: preparation and passing the state exam in the direction and profile of training in the amount of 3 ZET (108 hours).

Practice

The postgraduate program includes teaching and research practice.
The program of pedagogical practice includes the preparation and conduct of laboratory classes with students, the consolidation and formation of skills in the methodological development and analysis of the main forms of educational and extracurricular activities in microbiology; explanation, development and control of knowledge in microbiology; organization of educational work with students; development and improvement of the program of training courses in microbiology.
Research practice in the system of training highly qualified personnel is a type of practical activity of graduate students to carry out scientific work in higher education, necessary to carry out research within the framework of the theme of their final qualification work (Ph.D. thesis).

Career

Upon completion of postgraduate studies in the field of "Biological Sciences", the profile of "Microbiology", the graduate receives a diploma of completion, which gives him the following options:
- protection of scientific work carried out during the period of study in graduate school with the assignment of a Ph.D. degree in this specialty;
- teaching activities in specialized universities and colleges;
- formulate new ideas and hypotheses for solving research problems in medicine;
- participation in the work of Russian and international scientific teams;
- participation in the work of international and regional health organizations, etc.
