Profession

A teacher-researcher is an employee of a scientific and educational organization, combining teaching and research activities. A graduate of the postgraduate program “Russian Language: Russia — Europe: languages and cultures”, holder of this qualification, has experience of simultaneously studying and teaching in Russian and French universities, and therefore receives great advantages in the labor market. The academic environment of the two universities — RUDN University and the University of Toulouse — allows you to conduct scientific work based on the scientific and educational paradigms of Russia and France, while research activities can be aimed both at developing topical problems in the field of Russian studies at the international level, and at problems of an interdisciplinary nature . The dual PhD degree opens up opportunities for participation in joint scientific and educational projects.

Educational Process

The learning process is carried out on the basis of two universities — RUDN and the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès. The program includes interdisciplinary subjects, such as “History and philosophy of science”, “Research methodology”, ” Pedagogy of higher education”, as well as basic profile disciplines: “Language theory”, “Language contacts”, “International studies in Europe”, “Russian language”, etc. The program features research seminars, webinars and master classes with the involvement of Russian and French leading scientists.

Practice

The program is provided for pedagogical and research practices at the departments of the Faculty of Philology of RUDN University and at the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès.
In the course of teaching practice, graduate students acquire skills of conducting seminars and practical classes, working with methodological materials to organize educational process in one of the main educational programs implemented at the graduating department.
Research practice is aimed at developing skills of conducting independent scientific research in the field of linguistics, preparing for professional activity in the field of science.

Career

Graduates of the postgraduate program “Russia — Europe: Languages and Cultures”, who have successfully completed the postgraduate program and defended their Ph.D, also experts in working with texts of various types. Employers of graduates are the embassies of foreign countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, French universities, such as the University of Bordeaux, the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès, etc.
