About the profession

The formation and implementation of a resource-saving strategy at all levels of management are one of the most important issues of strategic management because resource intensity and quality are the main properties of any product. In addition, today the Russian Federation lags far behind the industrialized countries in terms of resource efficiency. Resource-saving methods are implemented through organizational and technical measures, for example, to replace physically or morally obsolete technologies, equipment, organizational projects, economic and other management methods.

Educational process

The program "Energy and resource-saving processes in chemical technology, petrochemistry and biotechnology" is aimed at training specialists in the field of energy and resource conservation. Knowledge of modern principles and methods of energy and resource saving in chemical technology, petrochemistry and biotechnology, the use of computational and analytical methods, methods for optimizing production processes and the use of the best available technologies in the creation of energy- and resource-saving industries are a prerequisite for the training of a specialist in resource-saving processes and technologies. The course is aimed at those who intend to link their professional activities with chemical production. Training courses taught in the framework of the educational program include both the study of a complex of traditional professional disciplines:

  • Fundamentals of Resource Conservation
  • Processes and devices of chemical technology
  • General chemical technology
  • Processes and devices for environmental protection
  • Modeling of energy and resource-saving processes
  • Control systems of chemical-technological processes,

And special disciplines at the student's choice, allowing to expand the ecological foundations of knowledge:

  • Harmful and hazardous substances in industry
  • HSE management
  • Green economy and sustainable development of enterprises
  • Recycling of production and consumption wastes


As part of the study of the practical part of the program, students undergo professional internship at state and private enterprises within the industrial cluster of the waste-processing industry - of the largest production associations such as “Gazpromneft - Moscow Oil Refinery” JSC, “EcoStandard group” company, Federal Budgetary Institution “Rostest-Moscow”, the largest German company for the production of purification equipment “HUBER TECHNOLOGIES”; “ECOTECHNOLOGIES” Ltd, Voskresensky Plant of mineral fertilizers. Contracts for professional internship with Togliatti State University (TSU) and Voronezh Nuclear Power Plant have also been signed.


As a result of the program, students acquire skills in the field of energy and resource conservation in chemical technology, petrochemistry and biotechnology. Many students successfully continue their studies in Master’s degree programs of Moscow State University, D. Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia and other technical universities, work at energy enterprises, oil refining complex (Moscow Oil Refinery, SIBUR), in public administration and control bodies (ROSPRIRODNADZOR, Ministry of Ecology of the Moscow Region, etc.).
