About the profession
This field of study is developed for graduates of Russian and foreign universities, holders of bachelor’s or specialist’s degrees, including those who have not previously studied upon the bachelor’s degree programme in “Engineering and Technological Support of Machine-Building Production” and related fields. Training is aimed at acquiring system knowledge in the field of machine-building and the formation of skills in solving scientific and practical tasks in the global competitive environment. The rapid pace of development of machine-building, the creation of new equipment, types of processing and production of blanks formed the need for specialists with a master’s degree in the field of technology of automated machine-building.
Training process
For two years of study, students continue an in-depth study of basic fundamental disciplines and much attention is paid to their training in a specific field of automated machine-building, pedagogical and managerial knowledge, as well as applied skills and abilities. Therefore, in the period of study, students learn both theoretical and applied professional disciplines. Training is completed by passing state exams and defense of a master's thesis.
Classes in special disciplines are also held in lecture halls equipped with technical teaching aids, which greatly simplifies the mastering of the training content, expands the boundaries of the possibility of giving traditional lectures. In lecture halls there are posters on various sections of the disciplines studied and full-scale samples.
Already in the first year of study, students are intensively immersed in the profession. Students acquire basic knowledge in the professional field through learning practice-oriented disciplines:
- History and methodology of science and production
- Mathematical modeling in machine-building
- Computer technologies in science and production
- Methodology of scientific research in machine-building
- Reliability and diagnostics of technological systems
- Contemporary challenges of instrumental support of machine-building productions
- Calculation, simulation and design of computer-controlled equipment
- Economic feasibility of scientific decisions
- Nanotechnology in machine-building
- Technological quality assurance
- New construction materials
- Application software systems
- Technology of automated production
- Patenting and intellectual property protection
Traineeship and internship
During the period of study, students undertake an internship at the Department and at the following enterprises: Zhukovsky Machine-Building Plant OJSC, Naro-Fominsk Machine-Building Plant JSC, ENIMS OJSC, Scientific-Technical Center “APM” LLC, SPA “Measuring Equipment”, etc.
When undertaking introductory, educational and on-the-job internships, students learn current technology, organization and management of enterprises, as well as the latest research methods.
The Department has long-term and productive relationship with the leading Russian universities (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Moscow State Technical University "Stankin", Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), SPA “Splav”, etc.)
Career opportunities
During the whole period of study, students annually undertake educational and on-the-job internships at the leading machine-building enterprises in Moscow, the Moscow Region and other regions.
Graduates of the programme work at machine-building enterprises, in industrial committees, research and design institutes.
