A Specialist in Germanic studies is a highly qualified researcher, a PhD specialist prepared to carry out scientific and pedagogical activity at higher educational establishments. The qualification of PhD specialist in Germanic studies allows him/her to deliver lectures and carry out seminars in the field of linguistics and modern languages, methods of scientific research and analysis. He/she also can give practical lessons to undergraduate students of higher educational institutions. As a rule specialists of the kind continue their research activity – write articles, take part in scientific seminars and conferences at home and abroad, publish theses and authorized lecture courses, manuscripts, textbooks and monographs.
