Internal Combustion Engines
Full-time
Master’s Degree
Power Engineering
Academy of Engineering
2 Years
Russian
About the profession:
Power engineering is a priority area of the modernization and technological development of the Russian economy. The rapid pace of development of engine building, the creation of low-toxic and low-consumption internal combustion engines, the expansion of a range of traditional and alternative fuels formed the need for specialists with a master’s degree in the field of study “Internal Combustion Engines”.
Training process:
Upon completion of the programme, graduates:
- know the fundamentals of creation, research, modeling, production, operation of internal combustion engines (ICE) and power plants with ICE, the processes of energy conversion in ICE and combined ICE and their elements;
- have skills in making informed decisions at the stages of selection, design, creation, testing, operation, ensuring reliable and low-consumption operation of power plants with ICE and combined ICE;
- use industry-accepted calculation methods, graphic packages, databases to ensure reliable operation of power plants;
- can perform calculations to determine the main indicators of fuel-efficiency and reliability of ICE, combined ICE.
Disciplines:
Specialized disciplines cover the main areas of power engineering in relation to ICE: Mathematical modeling of heat engines, Modern energy technologies, Patenting, Automatic regulation of heat engines, Cogeneration units based on heat engines, Modern computer communication technologies, ICE testing methods, Special chapters of the theory of heat engines, Automatic regulation of heat engines, ICE Fuel supply systems, Problems of reducing ICE harmful emissions, Current issues of science and production in power engineering, Special chapters of ICE theory and design.
Internship:
When undertaking scientific research internships, students learn current technology, organization and management of enterprises, as well as the latest research methods.
As part of the educational internship, students are trained to be teachers and acquire relevant skills.
The Department has long-term and productive relationship with the leading Russian universities (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow State Automobile & Road Technical University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Kazan Aviation Institute, Moscow Aviation Institute, Moscow Automechanical Institute, etc.).
Career opportunities:
Power engineering is a professional field of graduates. The main areas of professional activity include scientific and research-production institutions, R&D and production organizations of any form of ownership; state and non-state secondary, specialized secondary and higher educational institutions.
