Orientation on the international labor market is what distinguishes the Institute of Law of RUDN .

Technical equipment must meet all the requirements of modern times. Hours of practical skills is an integral part of learning. Audiences with multimedia equipment, laboratory for criminalistics, courtroom, polygraph examiner room, an extensive database of practices - all this and many other things help future lawyers to conquer the peaks of the profession.

Absolute competitive advantage of the Institute is cooperation with leading international organizations and universities through joint master programmes, summer and winter schools, traineeships. Students can not only get the diploma of RUDN, but also of a foreign university-partner, and simultaneously learn the profession of a translator.

Study process

The training is conducted in 13 highly specialized Jurisprudence departments of "General profile".

The training is carried out according to the approved list of mandatory subjects of State standards, as well as of the disciplines imposed by the decision of the Academic Council of the University, as an autonomous institution. Each course students are allowed to choose subjects according to their own preferences from the section "Elective courses".

Practice

Students develop professional skills in practice in Russian structures (the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Federal Center for forensic expertise, Supreme and constitutional courts, leading Attorney's College) and international companies (Clifford Chance LLP, Baker&McKenzie, PwC Legal, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited). Getting into professional field, students gain experience, watching the debates of the parties in court, corporate disputes, negotiations, etc.

Science

One of the priorities in the field of research is to study legal tendencies in the regulation of education and science development not only in the Russian Federation, but also to learn national particularities of the legislation of foreign countries.

Teachers of the Institute, mainly have scientific degrees and titles. Most of them possess practical experience in jurisprudence. Thanks to them, the students gain their first professional recognition and win in professional competitions on international level: the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition; The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot; Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition; Telders International Law Moot Court Competition; the Martens Readings in International Humanitarian Law; ICC Lex mercatoria; Annual M.G. Rosenberg Competition in International Commercial Arbitration and others.

The participation certificate of the tournament gives significant advantage in hiring by Russian and international law firms.

These competitions are held in English, what approves the high level of English of the students-participants.

Students of the Institute of Law not only take part in conferences held at the Institute, but they often themselves act as organizers of scientific events. Scientific student society (PDF) includes students, who share the desire to think and defend their point of view; students who are ready to move beyond the educational process to find the essence of the concepts and phenomena through scientific research.

By the end of the 4 bachelor course students are authors of nearly 20 scientific articles and theses.

Student’s life

Future lawyers do not forget that a good vacation is a pledge of a fruitful work. That's why creative evenings are held regularly, excursions around Moscow and other Russian cities, meetings with interesting people. Traditional students holiday in our Institute is the "Knights of the cross". Our athletes are well known all over the world: among the students and post-graduate students of the Institute of Law of RUDN are Olympic champions, world and Europe champions.

Practice

Practice of the Institute of Law help you to plunge into professional life while a student. The State Duma, the Federation Council, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Federal Center for forensic expertise, the Supreme and the constitutional courts, the leading bar associations - here the students of the Institute of Law apply their knowledge gained at the University and perfect professional competences.
