About the profession

The profession of a municipal lawyer is becoming more and more in-demand because of quickly growing, but under-staffed municipal sphere of activity. A municipalist is a true legal professional who knows everything about drafting legislative documents, municipal legal acts and other legal papers needed for the executor of law in local self-government bodies.

Educational process

The program is a set of academic disciplines with the common subject and oriented towards practical activity in State authorities of the Russian Federation, State authorities of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, bodies of local self-government. A skillful combination of academic courses comprising the study of a Russian experience in local self-government, legal foundations for its organization and functioning; as well as practices of development and analysis of the current state of local self-government abroad (both in CIS and other foreign countries) can be considered as useful information material both for municipal officers or civil servants from local self-government, and for everyone in the system of state and municipal administration. Formation of practical skills and abilities to apply the obtained knowledge in law-enforcement activity occupies an important part in training of lawyers for the state authorities of the Russian Federation, state authorities of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, bodies of local self-government as well as for state authorities of other countries.

Practical training

Annually students of LL.M. program are able to have practical training in the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, in Moscow prefectures, and other organizations and institutions; as well as take part in various international and all-Russian conferences, simulated court proceedings, academic seminars and science circles to deepen and develop their knowledge on the Master’s degree program.
