Nowadays neurosurgery is a constantly developing specialty with good prospects. During the training, a resident learns methods of correct diagnosis and acquires the ability to determine the tactics of treatment, which is particularly critical for neurosurgery. Future neurosurgeons also need to perfectly apply practical skills. This is achieved through surgeries conducted independently in the learning process. The Department trains a highly qualified specialist who can perform surgical interventions qualitatively, without errors and harm to a patient, achieving the set goal in the treatment.
The educational residency programme "Neurosurgery" is developed for people with higher medical education, aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the field of diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system, performing surgical interventions on the brain (spinal cord and cerebrum), on the spinal column and other organs with disorders related to the innervation process.
Medical residents are distributed to the units of the clinical sites of the department, where, under the guidance of professors of the department, they have the opportunity both to expand their knowledge and see its application in practice. Students analyze clinical events and this provides the opportunity to obtain a wealth of clinical experience during residency training
A graduate of the residency programme is a highly qualified specialist, who can apply modern high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment and carry out therapeutic, diagnostic, research activities, engage in private medical practice. Graduates of the programme have the opportunity to work in public hospitals, private clinics, medical secondary schools, higher educational institutions of medical specialization, scientific organizations, polyclinics, consultative- diagnostic centers. Upon completion of the residency programme, the students have the opportunity to enroll in the postgraduate programme on the specialization “Neurosurgery”.
