About the programme

The pathologist's activity is primarily aimed at preserving the life and health of a person. In addition to diagnosis, this specialist is engaged in the autopsy of the deceased. The activity of this specialist is focused on the in-vivo study of surgical material and the biopsy. A conclusion on the correctness of the diagnosis is made based on the findings. This is especially important for oncology patients, since their life depends on this. Thus, the universality in medicine is a distinctive feature of the pathologist’s profession. This specialist receives materials from all fields of medicine: neurosurgery, cardiology, urology, gynecology, etc. Therefore, a pathologist is a difficult profession. This specialist should understand the processes occurring in the body, know all the pathologies and be able to make an accurate diagnosis, since a man’s destiny hides behind each referral for diagnostics to this specialist. The treatment of a patient, the scope of an operation and surgical indications depend on the diagnosis. A pathologist is indispensable in medicine.
