About the profession

In the fourth century BC, a great ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle noted that "politics - πολιτική" is the art of government of the state. More than two thousand years have passed since then, great empires were built and collapsed, ideologies, which were followed by thousands and millions of people around the world, were created and subverted, and the principles of government of any state and the basic laws of power have also remained attractive to those, who want to devote himself to this oldest and most difficult of the arts. Power, money, influence on people’s minds, management of the masses - all this remain indispensable attributes of politics.

Training process

The process of teaching the art of political management begins in the first year of study. A professional political scientist and politician must first learn to understand all the major issues that all states have faced and continue to face - the world and Russian history, basic principles of economics and management, environmental situation and the state of society, principles of the operation of legal systems. Then the political specialization begins - the principles of political consulting, PR and GR, philosophy of politics, the principles of public administration in Russia and in the world, techniques and methods of political analysis and forecasting, legal aspects of political activities, political journalism.

Business games ("UN model", "Model of the European Parliament", "Political negotiations", “Practice of solving ethno-political conflicts”), the club of political debates, participation in the work of the research and practice-oriented Institute of Contemporary Politics at the Department of Political Analysis and Management allow students to move from cold academic theory to practice and better understand the basic principles of the work of a political analyst, a political consultant, a political negotiator and a mediator. Senior students are required to undertake the internship in government bodies of Moscow and the Moscow region, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moscow, the Central Office of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
