World Politics: Conceptual Foundations and Intercultural Interaction
At the Department of Theory and History of International Relations of the RUDN we train future diplomats. A diplomat is a person of the state. In the work he is guided by the interests of the country. The state gives the employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an employee of the mission abroad the power to represent him, and he resolves conflicts and expands cooperation. The diplomat participates in official visits, negotiations and conferences, prepares and signs agreements. The profession is traditionally considered to be one of the most prestigious, interesting and highly paid. The diplomat is also an economist, political scientist, historian, culturologist and journalist, he is able to clearly express his thoughts and broadcast them through the media. He needs erudition, charm, tact and ability to conciliate everyone, adapt and respond successfully in any situation. And of course, you need to know several languages.
