DESCRIPTION:The lecture will address relevant philosophical issues at the intersection of linguistics\, philosophy and translation and will cover different theoretical approaches to semantic indeterminacy. The lecture will examine philosophical basis underlying the notions of meaning and semantic indeterminacy with special emphasis on translation and the problem of vague boundaries of semantic classes which characterizes even the most familiar terms.
