RUDN is developing the Olympiad movement in Angola

RUDN Open Olympiad for foreign citizens was held in Angola, covering about 1,500 participants in 3 cities of the country. Representatives of the Angolan Ministry of Education noted that the popularity of Russian education in the country is growing, and the Olympiad movement positively stimulates the country's youth and increases interest in education in general.

About 1,500 people in 3 cities of the Republic of Angola took part in RUDN Open Olympiad for foreign citizens in chemistry, mathematics, computer science, physics, biology and the Russian language. At the request of the Angolan partners, the geography of the event was expanded. In addition to Luanda, the capital the Olympiad was held in other provinces of the country - South Kwanza and Huambo. Participants who demonstrated high results will have the opportunity to study RUDN magistracy programs for free. As part of the cluster approach, the Olympiad “Time to study in Russia”, traditional for Angola for 6 years, also took place.

During the visit, RUDN delegation met with the Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Angola, Mr. Da Silva, who said that the participation of Angolan partners in RUDN International Employers Club within the cluster approach will help solve the problem of employment of Angolan graduate students from both local and foreign universities. According to him, the practice of interaction with leading universities in Russia has a positive trend and the current cabinet of the Ministry of Education supports the development of Cluster approach in the Republic of Angola. Mr. Da Silva also noted that the development of relations in the field of education with Russia is a priority given the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Angola João Lourenço to Russia.
