The Institute studies the deep structures and basic functions of the brain to enhance cognitive abilities and conducts fundamental and applied research in human brain development and neurorehabilitation.

AREAS OF ACTIVITY

The Institute develops innovative technologies for diagnosing and enhancing cognitive abilities in various age and sociocultural populations:

• patients who had neuro-oncological diseases and oncohematological diseases, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, comas, asphyxia
• athletes at the peak of their performance
• people with high cognitive reserve
• elderly (55+)

OBJECTIVES

• to create modern comprehensive valid diagnostic methods for assessing higher mental functions and motor control;
• to develop and test psychological and physical diagnosis and correction of cognitive functions in various educational and professional groups, as well as in diseases and disorders of the central nervous system;
• to monitor individual and group training processes in sports and professional activities, bringing athletes to a time-dependent peak physical condition.

RESULTS

• A technology for diagnosing and enhancing neurocognitive functions of patients who recovered from neuro-oncological diseases and oncohematological diseases, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, comas, asphyxia was developed.
• A technology for diagnosing and enhancing neurocognitive functions of older employees (55+) was developed.
• A technology for diagnosing and enhancing neurocognitive functions of people who recovered from COVID-19 was developed.
• A technology for online diagnosis of neurocognitive functions in various age and sociocultural populations was developed.

At a meeting of the new RUDN University Dissertation Council in the specialties of 2.1.12 “Architecture of Buildings and Structures. Creative Concepts of Architectural Activity” and 2.1.11 “Theory and History of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction of Historical and Architectural Heritage”, three postgraduate students — Natalia Kalinina, Evgeny Ogienko, and Yulia Loginova — were awarded PhD degrees in Architecture for the first time in the university's history.
