The delegation of the Lebanese State University had an official visit to RUDN University May 15, the delegation of the Lebanese State University made an official visit to the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The delegation consisted of the Dean of the Agricultural Faculty of the Lebanese University, Professor Samir Medawar, who is also the Counsellor of the Agriculture Minister of Lebanon, and the Head of Department of the basic disciplines of the Agricultural Faculty and Dr. George Aoun, a graduate of the Engineering Faculty of RUDN University in 1984. The representatives of the Lebanese University marked the main purpose of their visit as the development of the cooperation agreement between the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and the Lebanese State University. The visiting program of the Lebanese delegation was very busy and productive. Samir Medawar and George Aoun visited the Engineering Faculty where they held negotiations with Ramzi Abu-Nidzhim Hassan, Deputy Dean of International Affairs and the Head of the Department of vehicles operation of RUDN University. The sides discussed issues of cooperation between the engineering faculties of the Lebanese University and RUDN University. The visiting program of Samir Medawar and George Aoun continued with the University excursion. The guests visited the Spacecraft Control Center (SCC RUDN University – CRIFMB) then had a conversation with Chursin A.A., the Director of the Institute of Applied technical and economic research and expertise. The Lebanese delegation visited the Agrarian Faculty and carried on the negotiations with P.A.Dokukin, Deputy Dean of Innovations and Development, Head of the Soil Science, Agriculture and Land Cadastre Department. During the conversation they discussed possible areas of cooperation between the Agriculture Faculties of the Lebanese University and RUDN University. The meeting with O.V.Andreeva, RUDN University Vice-Rector for international activity completed the program of the delegation’s visit. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Engineering and Agricultural Departments, as well as the representatives of the Alumni Department. The discussion focused on the cooperation between universities. Samir Madavar said the Lebanese University is interested in establishing strong and mutually beneficial relations with Russian universities, particularly with RUDN University, as out of 70 professors at the Lebanese University, 20 got their degrees at the universities of the Soviet Union.
