“Expo-langues” in Paris

February 5-8, a prestigious and well-known in Europe International Linguistic salon “Expo-langues-2014” was held in Paris. The salon received 30 countries and 180 exhibitors of 80 languages and conducted more than 100 conferences and events. The participation of Russia was arranged by Rossotrudnichestvo: the united Russian stand of educational services was organized by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Paris. It presented training programme units and programmes of the leading Russian universities, including the Russian Peoples' Friendship University. February 6, the seminar on methods of teaching Russian to pupils of the Russian elementary schools in France “Modern approaches in teaching Russian to the children of compatriots” took place at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Paris. The seminar was attended by RUDN University’s professors: prof., Ph.D. V. Sinyachkin, Associate Professor V. Dronov, PhD E. Oshchepkova. The event was also attended by Russian teachers who work on the basis of Russian schools in France. The seminar was conducted by the professors of the Russian Peoples' Friendship University who also performed to the audience different learning and teaching literature also using multimedia facilities of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture. February 7, the representative office of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture organized the research and practice conference “Literary translation: Russophonia and new tendencies” within the salon “Expo-langues-2014”. Leading French and Russian experts in philology spoke at the conference: Deputy Director of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Fyodor Uspensky, distinguished professor of the Paris-Sorbonne University Jean-Pierre Desclés, Associate Professor of RUDN University Vladimir Dronov, translator and “Russophonia” prize-winner in 2011 for the best literary translation from Russian to French Julie Bouvar, translators Geneviève Dispot and Elizabeth Essayan. The participants of the conference agreed on regular meetings devoted to the topical issues of modern science on the basis of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Paris.
