Gabriela Rivadeneira, President of the National Assembly of Ecuador visits RUDN

Gabriela Rivadeneira, President of the National Assembly of Ecuador visited RUDN. The visit started with a meeting with RUDN Rector V.Filippov, where the parties discussed multilateral cooperation, first of all in the field of education. In the frame of broadened academic interaction between Peoples’ friendship university and universities of Ecuador the parties agreed to increase the number of students from Ecuador and set up a Centre for the Russian language and culture in Ecuador.

Ms.Rivadeneira also visited RUDN Space flight control centre and learnt about its structure, elaborations and potential cooperation in the field of the Earth distant probing and its usage in agriculture and forestry as well as using space means of telecommunication, navigation, hydrometeorology etc.

The most awaited moment of the visit was Ms.Rivadeneira’s meeting with RUDN academics and students, where she expressed her admiration for the university her country has long cooperated with and told about problems and development prospects of Ecuador and called for all the young people in the world to unite on the way to peaceful co-existence.
