RUDN told about its best practices at an exhibition in Taiwan

In March, the Russian delegation made a presentation on the topic “International Education in Russia” in the frame of an international educational exhibition ARA1E 2017 (Conference & Exhibition, Kaohsiung, Taiwan).

The conference featured a session of the 5-100 project dedicated to international education in Russia, where experts from the universities participants of the Project spoke.

Alexander Bedny (UNN), Victoria Panova (Far Eastern Federal University), Vera Upirova (SFU), Olga Troitskaya (Chief Specialist, "Sociotcenter") presented the main achievements of the 5-100 Project and best practices of Russian universities in the field of internationalization and the development of international academic mobility.

Foreign colleagues asked questions about the main challenges faced by the Russian universities in the implementation of this ambitious program, on how to support the adaptation of foreign students and create the English-speaking environment. During the discussion of the mechanisms that allowed the Russian universities to multiply the number of publications in journals indexed in WoS and Scopus, the Head of the Directorate of RUDN academic excellence program Natalia Gvozdeva, introduced the RUDN practice of concluding effective contracts with indicators of publication activity of researchers and teachers.

During the meeting, representatives of RUDN and University of Burgundy discussed the prospects of cooperation in the areas of the implementation of joint law and economics programs, exchange of students, teaching Russian as a foreign language, the organization of academic mobility of teachers etc. The parties decided to sign a cooperation agreement for teaching Burgundy University students in Peoples’ Friendship University starting from September 2017.

The 12^th annual conference of the Asian Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition started its work in Taipei Kaohsiung on the 20th of March. Like last year, the project participating universities presented 5-100 common stand on this key project in the Asia-Pacific region. This professional event has brought together more than 1,400 delegates - specialists in the field of higher education from around the world.
