RUDN University to host conference on Cultural-pragmatic aspects of media texts as an object of linguistics
The International research and practice conference on Cultural-pragmatic aspects of media texts as an object of linguistics will bring together leaders in the field of journalism & mass-media for a comprehensive overview of this rapidly expanding area of research and development. The Conference will be held in Moscow from April 28-29, 2016 at the faculty of Philology of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

The conference will become a discussion platform where main trends, new technologies and the development of modern mass media and bring together researchers, practitioners and educators from different areas - journalism and media, linguistics, psychology, international relations, etc. - to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of Journalism and Mass Communications. "This year's conference is particularly important," said conference Convener Victor Barabash, dean of the faculty of Philology, RUDN University.
"For the last few years due to an active information and communication technologies adoption there have been considerable changes in the organization and nature of mass media activity. Digitalization process - analog to digital conversion - marked the beginning of a new era of mass media development. We are also seeing increased interest from the business and venture capital sectors seeking to turn the results of that research to real-world uses."

"We are trying to get attention from our foreign colleagues so we will use English as a working language for the conference."
The conference will cover topics relevant to the trends of mass media: modern technologies in journalism, internet media, using modern technologies, digital sources, national and global media systems, Traditions and innovations. Structure and elements of modern media system, production of media content: from gathering information to publication, production of different types of multimedia content, data journalism, investigative journalism, modern media studies: interdisciplinary approach, media linguistics, media psychology, moderm media discourse, media and communication analysis, and ethics of journalism etc.
