The visit of Dr. Iohannis Gitas, Prof. of the Soloniki University after Aristotle (Greece) to the RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute (ATI)
On March 13-17 2016 Dr. Iohannis Gitas, Prof. of the Soloniki University after Aristotle (Greece), famous specialist in the area of the remote sensing visited the RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute (ATI). The visit took place in the frameworks of the Cooperation Agreement between the RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute and the Soloniki University after Aristotle and the Working program of cooperation between RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute and the Faculty of agriculture, forestry and natural resources of the University after Aristotle.

The visit took place in the frameworks of the Cooperation Agreement between the RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute and the Soloniki University after Aristotle and the Working program of cooperation between RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute and the Faculty of agriculture, forestry and natural resources of the University after Aristotle.
During the visit, Professor Gitas delivered a lecture to the teachers, postgraduates and students of the RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute on distant remote sensing and land monitoring (in English language). Above that, there was a meeting of the famous scholar with the scientists of the RUDN Agrarian Technological Institute, which resulted with the elaboration of the period for opening the joint Masters’ program “Distant remote sensing”. In addition, there was the discussion of the forthcoming international conference “Innovative processes in agriculture” with presentations of a number of Greece scholars. The main issue of negotiations with Prof. Gitas and the ATI was the foundation of the joint international experimental and technological laboratory, which could pretend in future to become a cluster of excellence.
In 2023, the Public Council of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science conducted an independent assessment of the quality of conditions for educational activities. More than 300 universities and branches provided information on the quality of education.
