Visit of the ambassador of the Republic of Botswana to RUDN University

January 15: The Ambassador of the Republic of Botswana in the Russian Federation Mr. Lameck Nthekela visited The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. Earlier Mr. Nthekela worked in the department of foreign trade in the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Botswana, headed the Botswana agency of development of export and investments, he also was its regional representative in the European Union. The Ambassador had a meeting with the rector of RUDN University, academician of the Russian Academy of Education V. Filippov. In his welcome speech V.Filippov talked about training foreign students in RUDN University and suggested discussing potential directions and forms of cooperation. Mr. Lameck Nthekela gave facts about the education system of the Republic of Botswana, noted high quality of education in RUDN University and expressed interest in the increase of the number of students from Botswana trained in RUDN University, first of all at Master’s and postgraduate levels. During the negotiations the possibility of signing the agreement on interuniversity cooperation between RUDN University and University of Botswana was also discussed.
