World Congress on Open Educational Resources(OER) in Paris

On 20-22 June, 2012, the World Congress on Open Educational Resources(OER) under the aegis of UNESCO will take place in Paris. Since 2002, UNESCO has actively supported initiatives on creation of OER in Internet. Particular importance of OER acquired in developing countries, because their use can significantly increase access to quality higher education and lifelong learning as well as to ensure full participation of universities in the rapidly evolving world’s system of higher education. The CIS Network University (CIS NU) may acts as the driving force of OER in the CIS Countries. For four years, in addition to educational purposes, CIS NU facilitates convergence of youth of the CIS countries, providing the right to freely choose the time and place of education for students from different regions. Rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia V.M. Filippov and Vice-Rector of International Affaires G.A. Krasnova will address the Congress participants.
