Career start: medical students were told about the opportunities and prospects of working in outpatient care

43 students of the RUDN Medical Institute met with the leadership of the Diagnostic Clinical Center No. 1, the leading outpatient clinic in Moscow. The guests of the meeting spoke about the benefits of working on an outpatient basis during their residency - a flexible schedule, immersion in the work of the institution, and the possibility of conducting scientific work.

On March 25, at the department of general medical practice at the RUDN Clinical and Diagnostic Center, a meeting was held for graduate students in the specialty “General Medicine” with the management of the Diagnostic Clinical Center No. 1 of the Moscow Department of Health (DCC No. 1 DZM) - chief physician Vera Sidorova and deputy Chief Medical Officer Natalia Kupor.

At the meeting, students were told about the benefits of working on an outpatient basis. During the internship, students have the opportunity to draw up a flexible schedule of clinical practice both at the general medical appointment and at the appointment with "narrow" specialists, as well as in diagnostic departments. Future specialists participate in district and city medical conferences, complex clinical trials. In parallel with medical work, students are involved in administrative work - distribution of patient flows, organization of admission, compilation of statistical reports for regulatory organizations. Thus, in two years of residency, it is possible to prepare a specialist who will work confidently in the conditions of the modern healthcare system in Moscow.

Naturally, the students were worried about the financial side - what is the salary of doctors in outpatient facilities? Vera Sidorova, the head physician at the DCC No. 1 DZM, assured that outpatient facilities are on par with city hospitals and private healthcare institutions in terms of wages.

The Center’s participation in pilot projects and grants to prevent diseases and improve the quality of medical care allows doctors to engage in scientific work, which strengthens the prospects for further career growth.

The leadership of DKC No. 1 DZM once again emphasized that for them RUDN graduates are a sign of quality and a priority in employment.

Diagnostic Clinical Center No. 1 is the largest outpatient clinic in Moscow, which has the most modern laboratory facilities, staffed by specialists who are well-known in Russia and abroad. DKTs No. 1 DZM - the clinical base of the department of general medical practice at the RUDN University Medical Institute, one of the leading employers for graduates, as well as the personnel smithy - more than 20 doctors - RUDN University graduates work at the organization’s base, 4 residents are currently directly assigned to the Center.
