A delegation from Oman visits RUDN University

May 20, RUDN received a delegation from Nizwa University, one of the leading educational and scientific institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

Nizwa University is ranked second in the QS rankings among universities in the Arab region and first in scientific activity. Currently, the university has more than 9,000 students in 4 faculties, including 284 international students from more than 26 countries. The university has 4 research centers and 83 laboratories, all of this creating ample opportunities for joint scientific projects.

On the agenda were cooperation in the field of scientific research and academic exchange. Representatives of the University of Nizwa expressed interest in establishing contacts with RUDN University in the fields of chemistry and teaching science, as well as in conducting joint research and preparing scientific publications.

We are ready to develop international cooperation, including joint scientific supervision of dissertation research (PhD). Of particular interest in cooperation with the University of Nizwa is conducting scientific research in the field of medicine, engineering and information technology and academic exchange for students studying Arabic, as well as for teachers in economic and medical fields.

The Omani delegation included:

  • Ahmed Ben Khalfan Al Rawahi, Chancellor of the University of Nizwa, former Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman;
  • Ahmed Ben Suleiman Al-Kharusi, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs;
  • Walid Ben Khaled Al-Rajhi, Dean of the Faculty of Planning and Quality Management;
  • Badr Ben Zahran Al-Slimani, Director of External Relations;
  • Jamil Fadel, Head of the Education Department of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Russian Federation.

The first Omani students began pursuing higher education at Peoples' Friendship University in 1962. Since then, RUDN University has trained 89 specialists for the country, the most popular areas of study among students being medicine, agronomy, law, journalism and civil engineering.

A delegation from Ghana visits RUDN University

RUDN University welcomed a delegation of three Municipal Assemblies of the Republic of Ghana - Korle Klottey, La Dade-Kotopon and Ledzokuku. At the meeting the parties discussed the results of the educational school “Solid Waste Management and Circular Economy”, held at the Institute of Ecology of RUDN University this year.

Expanding Educational Cooperation: RUDN University Hosts BRICS Network University International Governing Board Meeting

The BRICS Network University International Governing Board is the main coordinating body of the educational consortium. Russia is chairing BRICS in 2024. The event took place in the run-up to the meeting of the Ministers of Education of the countries of the association. The meeting is to take place in Kazan on 11 June.
