Research of the Eurasian space, study of international law, learning the Russian language... RUDN receives a delegation from Ibn Haldun University
January 10, the delegation of Ibn Haldun University met with the administration of RUDN University. The focus was on expanding interaction in research projects and academic mobility programs.
“We are a young but rapidly developing university in Turkey. Our main focus is research in the humanities and social sciences. We are developing international cooperation, so the experience and support of such an ambitious university as RUDN University is important to us. We plan to implement concrete projects. In particular, this summer we expect academic exchange programs between our universities,” Professor Bilal Erdogan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University.
Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul trains talented students from 83 countries. The main research interests of the university are in the humanities: pedagogy, law, management, mass communications, philosophy, psychology and history. Ibn Haldun University has applied research centers to study argumentation and debate, ethics, international law and human rights.

“We are happy to see such an honored delegation in our university. We have many common points to cooperate. Among them may be initiatives for the development of social and humanitarian research — the study of migration processes, ethnic diversity, and foreign languages. I would especially like to emphasize the readiness of RUDN University to share experience in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language,” Yulia Ebzeeva, First Vice-Rector — Vice-Rector for Education at RUDN University.
On the same day, the delegation met students from Turkey. Currently, 133 students from this country are studying at RUDN University, mostly majoring in medicine, engineering and the humanities, including philology and social sciences.
January 11, working meetings were held between the delegation of Ibn Haldun University and the management and scientists of the Law Institute, the Institute of the Russian Language, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) of RUDN.
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, together with the professors of the faculty, invited Turkish colleagues to do joint research of international relations, political science and philosophy. The Department of Theory and History of International Relations invited to take part in the international scientific conference “Russian Foreign Policy in the Eurasian Space,” which this year is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the creation of the EAEU. FHSS scientists will welcome the participation of masters, postgraduate students and young scientists of Ibn Haldun University at the faculty round tables.
Scientific publishing activities were identified as the second major area of cooperation. Editorial boards of the journals “RUDN Vestnik. International Relations” and “RUDN Vestnik. Political Sciences” are ready to accept articles from colleagues from Ibn Haldun University. The second issue of “RUDN Vestnik. International Relations” will be thematically devoted to Russia’s turn to the East and its foreign policy strategy in this context.
Ibn Haldun University also invited scientists from RUDN University to publish in its journals on Eurasian studies. Turkish colleagues invited RUDN lecturers and postgraduate students to participate in the conference on Eurasian studies in May 2024, and also expressed their readiness for professors’ academic exchange.
Legal studies were also considered promising for research cooperation. Topics include international law, human rights protection, and legal aspects of artificial intelligence. Scientists from the Faculty of Law of Ibn Haldun University received an invitation to the XX International Congress “Blishchenko Readings” on international law, which will be held at RUDN University in the spring.
“We have discussed the prospects for scientific cooperation in terms of scientific publications on international law, namely the protection of human rights, as well as artificial intelligence,” Sergei Zinkovsky, Director of the Law Institute of RUDN University.
The delegation of Ibn Haldun University held a working meeting with the Director and leading scientists of the Russian Language Institute of RUDN University. Director of RUDN Digital Preparatory Faculty Shakhnoza Sultanova spoke about the unique interactive educational platform of the Center for Educational Training, uniting students from 65 countries. The parties reached an agreement to hold summer schools in Istanbul and Moscow for students of both universities. RUDN Russian Language Institute and the School of Foreign Languages at Ibn Haldun University signed a work program of cooperation, which opens up new opportunities for student exchange, development of educational programs and joint research.
“The work program is an important step to strengthen academic ties, and also contributes to the development of cultural and educational exchange between RUDN and Ibn Haldun University,” Angela Dolzhikova, Director of the Russian Language Institute of RUDN.
RUDN Institute of Environmental Engineering is hosting the winners of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards 2024 state scholarship program for the second time. The participants chose between 126 universities from 23 countries, including the USA, Canada and Australia. 25 best Indonesian students chose Russia and came to Moscow for the first time.
In the morning, the main building is always crowded, students rushing to their first class. Suddenly, there is a large group of smiling young people from Africa, very smartly dressed, wearing scarfs with two logos on them, one — a university logo and the other — an unfamiliar abbreviation JGC.
RUDN University welcomed a delegation of three Municipal Assemblies of the Republic of Ghana - Korle Klottey, La Dade-Kotopon and Ledzokuku. At the meeting the parties discussed the results of the educational school “Solid Waste Management and Circular Economy”, held at the Institute of Ecology of RUDN University this year.
