On getting discounts for publishing articles in scientific journals

“In the vast majority of journals, you can publish articles for free. Two tips, especially for postgraduate students: first, write directly to journals so you don’t have to pay middlemen, and second, start submitting your papers in your first year. As soon as you have written the first paragraph of your dissertation, prepare an article and send it.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that we have suspended the requirement for thesis defense — publications in the journals of the Web of Science and Scopus databases,” said Oleg Yastrebov, Rector of RUDN University.

About tuition fees

“Payment in rubles is available for all international students. To do this, you need to send an application to mfc@rudn.ru ,” said Olesya Saginbayeva, Head of the RUDN University Commercial Department.

“We are also introducing payment in yuan for students from China, in dirhams for citizens of the UAE. The university has opened accounts in various banks in order to solve the issue of tuition fees as flexibly as possible. We try to meet halfway, we do not accrue penalties,” said Oleg Yastrebov, Rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

About transferring money from abroad

“Raiffeisen Bank is still the leader in money transfers from abroad. Almost all states can send transfers in foreign currency or rubles through it.

“Increased stipends are distributed evenly among the activists of the student council, federations and associations of foreign students, ‘Druzhba’ sport complex and others. On paying for health insurance

“Until August 31, there is a 10% discount on medical insurance.

Also RUDN Medical Center provides installments for insurance payment. On renovations in hostels

“We hope to launch Building 11 on September 15-20. Furniture has already been installed on the top five floors. We try to make one building every year. Last year they made the 7th building. At a meeting in October, we will consider with Vice-Rector Sergey Nazyuta which building we will repair next year,” — Oleg Yastrebov, Rector of RUDN University.

On the accommodation of applicants

“We have an adaptation center where applicants come, we accommodate them there. Within 2 weeks, they undergo a medical examination, after which they are settled in a permanent hostel,” — Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

On medical students’ exams

“Foreign 3rd year medical students cannot take exams online. Exams are held internally. You are starting practice at the basic departments. Medicine is the most responsible major. You study longer, you study harder than other majors, you have more responsibilities, because you have chosen the most respected profession of a doctor, I ask you to comply with it from your student days. I recommend either taking an academic leave or come here, because internships in hospitals have already begun.
