International conference of young scientists “Current problems of modern human science”

The Department of Social and Differential Psychology with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the International Academy of Pedagogical Education, FIRST - Fordham Institute ofr research, service, teaching andPSI CHI - The International Honor Society in Psychology holds an International conference of young scientists "Current problems of modern human science" on 16-17 November, 2016, at: Moscow, RUDN University,10/2, Miklukho-Maklaya str., Building of the faculties of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, Philology Faculty.

50 young scientists from Russia and abroad will discuss topical issues of the humanities, participate in trainings and master classes.

Ingrid van de Stadt has a master's degree in molecular biology at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). As a researcher she worked in New York, where she conducted research in the field of technology of DNA fingerprinting and molecular aspects of neurodegenerative diseases. During this time, she has published several articles and patent applications for genetic analysis and diagnostic methods. After academic career in the United States, Ingrid took over as publisher of magazines and books on biotechnology at Elsevier. Currently, Ingrid is the Regional Director of Marketing for Elsevier regions of Eastern Europe, Russia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Academic seminar “Current problems of psychology and pedagogy”

November 15, 2016, a regular meeting within the academic seminar "Current problems of psychology and pedagogy" takes place at Psychology and pedagogy department of the Peoples’ friendship university of Russia. A report "Peculiarities of interdisciplinary research in modern psychology and pedagogy" will be performed by the Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Head of the Department of N.Karabuschenko, Ed.D, Professor G. Ivanova. At the seminar consideration will be given to historical experience and development factors of interdisciplinary research in psychology and pedagogy, the main levels of interdisciplinary research will be pointed out, some of the restrictions and challenges of interdisciplinary research in psychology and pedagogy will be specified.

The seminar starts at 2.50 p.m.

Studying megacities in EU: developing joined educational programs

The aim of the event

Urbanization is an important trend in current land-use change. Up to 70% of the world population is projected to live in cities by 2050. Urbanization is a key issue, emphasizing important social, economical and environmental problems. Searching for solutions involve a broad sphere of experts in city governance, urban management, landscape design and planning. Educational sphere provides a unique chance to bring together the expertise of researchers and decision-makers to address the issues of sustainable urban management to future generations.

Russian and European students of today are the main future players of sustainable urban planning, management, design and governance. Growing up a new generation of young professionals with a European-level expertise is an ambitious and a very important goal of European-Russian integration in educational sphere.

Round table will provide a platform for discussion between university officials, coordinators of international programs, lecturers and students to search for the best solutions in educational collaboration. An existing experience in organizing joined and double-diploma projects and inclusive education between Russian and EU universities will be discussed. Especial attention will be given to organizing student and staff mobility. Round table will enable exploring new funding opportunities to support education collaboration by Russian (e.g. “5-100” program) and international (e.g. Erasmus+ mobility, Jean Monnet and Capacity building) projects. Establishing an international consortium for joined participation in international educational projects would be considered a promising outcome of the round table.

The round table “Studying megacities in EU: developing joined educational programs” continues the set of international research and educational meetings, organized under the umbrella of EDEMS Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project (Erasmus-edems.ru) at the Agrarian-technological Institute of the RUDN university (www.rudn.ru) in 2016-2017.

In order to receive multi-disciplinary feedback a broad audience, including coordinators and manager of international projects, university officials and administration, scientific and research community, lecturers and student, will get involved in the discussion of educational collaboration in the sphere of urban ecology, green technologies and sustainable development. Invited experts from Russia, Netherlands, Italy and China will share existing experience and perspectives for collaboration.

RUDN host opening of on-line access to B.Eltsin Presidential library

November 10, at 2.00 pm RUDN host opening of on-line access to B.Eltsin Presidential library

The online collection is available through electronic reading rooms at affiliated organizations, regional centres and overseas offices of the Presidential Library, as well as through some higher education and specialized secondary educational establishments, government entities and public organizations.

The library was founded at the initiative of the government and started functioning on 27 May 2009, as a multi-purpose informational centre. It has the status of National Library of Russia.

The RUDN University's scientists, students and degree seekers will get remote access to the reading rooms of the Library from 10 November.
