A workshop on "Can we solve the problem of carbon cycle disbalance?" will be held for groups of undergraduates of 1-4 courses and groups of undergraduates of 1-2 courses of the Faculty of Ecology. Speaker-Leading researcher at the University of Bern (Switzerland) and IFHE RAS, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Rudnev A.V.
The main purpose of the workshop is to introduce students to the problem of the disbalance of the carbon cycle on Earth-the likely cause of global warming. Strategies for solving this problem will be discussed: the production of "green" energy and technologies for converting carbon dioxide into fuel.
Brief information
A.V. Rudnev graduated from the Russian University of Chemical Technology named after Mendeleev in 2004 and defended his PhD thesis at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences. After defending his PhD thesis in 2007, A.V. Rudnev worked at the Frumkin Institute as a senior researcher. In 2009, he joined as a postdoc a research group led by Professor Thomas Wandlowski at the University of Bern. In 2014, A.V. Rudnev was granted an EU research grant and started working on the Acmol project as a lead researcher.
