About the event

Scientific purpose: to discuss the problem of free will, the possibilities of its justification, conceptual definition and interpretation in the context of philosophy of consciousness and modern science.

A. A. Yurasov will present his approach to the formulation of the problem of free will, taking into account the historical and philosophical context of the relevant discussions. The speaker suggests considering two possible formulations of this problem: the broader one is "Does free will exist, and what is the area of its implementation?" and the more precise one — "What is the area of implementation of free will?". Is the concept of free will compatible with the modern sci-ence — this shall be the topic for discussion.
