The scientific seminar “Language aspects of integration and self-identification in modern world” will be held at RUDN University.
Title: “Motivation as a Manifestation of Biased Cognition”.
Speaker: Tszin Tao, the Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, RUDN University.
The purpose of the event: The scientific seminar is dedicated to improving the quality of teaching foreign languages and cultures in accordance with the new challenges posed to humanitarian education; expanding active contacts with scientists and teachers of foreign languages and humanities from leading universities, raising the status of foreign languages and humanities, developing the academic reputation of the RUDN University named after Patrice Lumumba and the incoming mobility of leading scientists.
The tasks of the seminar:
- to provide insight into the hypothesis of cognitive bias as a predetermining factor of linguistic categorisation and interlingual incomplete equivalence.
- to inform the participants with the comparative analysis of situations to which the signs-nominations of the result of object deposition in the Russian-Chinese language pair are applicable.
