More and more new methods and approaches to teaching foreign languages are appearing at the turn of the century. The grammar-translation method, considered obsolete, has long been replaced by the globally popular communicative method.
But just as in culture and cinematography, in addition to the mainstream, there is always a kind of art-house. And in language teaching, the "art house" is the innovative and completely unconventional "Dogme" approach that appeared in the early 2000s thanks to Scott Thornbury. This approach is based on the following basic principles: learning based mainly on communication; minimal use of additional teaching materials and technologies; use of "live" spontaneous language.
It is this method and its potential contribution to pedagogy and language teaching that will be discussed in the report.
Seminar language: English.
Everyone is welcome!
