The Lower House of the Federal Assembly - parliament of the Russian Federation. The highest representative and legislative authority in Russia along with the Federation Council.
Students of the department undergo practice at the Central Office of the State Duma annually, including as assistants to deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. A number of students started working there after the practice.
The Apparatus of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation has been cooperating for a long time with the Faculty of humanities and social sciences of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) in the field of organizing educational and undergraduate student trainings. RUDN's employees, graduate students and students are active participants in the events organized by the State Duma: round tables, lectures, public hearings, etc. Representatives of the State Duma regularly take part in events held by the RUDN University: open lectures, master classes, round tables. The annual "Festivals of Science" at the RUDN University are well-liked among the Duma' s employees. During such events students get the opportunity to talk with representatives of the state civil service, as well as ask questions about the features of day-to-day work in the State Duma. The quality of professional training of RUDN's graduates as well as the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that they obtained during study at the university corresponds to the qualification requirements necessary for further effective work in the structural units of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
