Rafael Correa Delgado is Doctor of Economics, graduate of the University of Illinois (USA). He taught economics at San Francisco De Quito University. He was the Minister of Economy and Finance from April 20, 2005 to August 9, 2005.
Mr. Delgado won the presidential post in the presidential election on November 26, 2006.
In presidential elections held on April 26, 2009 Correa was re-elected for a second term.
On August 10, 2009 he took the oath for the second time as the President of Ecuador and took up a post of the head of the country.
On February 17, 2013 he won the election and was re-elected as the President of Ecuador for the third term. On May 24, 2017 he devolved his presidential powers.
