Profession

The professional activity of a bachelor's graduate in the integrated field of study "Computer and Information Sciences" is aimed at the development and application of information systems in various sectors of the economy, as well as scientific research on the analysis of novelty, reliability and efficiency of existing and developed infocommunication systems and their elements.
Graduates who have mastered this program can work as information systems specialists, architects and developers of information systems software modules, system administrators and IT consultants in the IT departments of state corporations and private companies, conduct research in leading scientific institutions in the development and analysis of mathematical and simulation models of infocommunication systems and networks, intelligent systems.

Educational Process

The program aims to develop modern knowledge and skills in future specialists related to mathematical and algorithmic modeling, programming, development of software systems and complexes, maintenance, operation and administration of infocommunication systems for various purposes. In addition, students acquire the skills of research activities in the development and research of algorithms, protocols, computational models and databases for the implementation of functions and services of information technology systems, as well as the development of architecture, algorithmic and software solutions for system and application software.
During the first two years, students acquire basic mathematical knowledge in the following disciplines: "Mathematical Analysis", "Algebra", "Analytical Geometry", "Discrete Mathematics and Mathematical Logic", "Computer Architecture and Operating Systems", "Finite Graph Theory", "Differential Equations”, “Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics”, “Computer Algebra”, “Computer Geometry”, “Fundamentals of Big Data Analysis”, “Fundamentals of Machine Learning and Neural Networks”. An obligatory part of the curriculum is the study of humanitarian disciplines, such as "History", "Philosophy", "Fundamentals of Rhetoric and Communication", "Jurisprudence", as well as "Life Safety", "Applied Physical Education".
After the second year, students choose a graduating department and one of the areas of study: "Mathematics and Computer Science" or "Fundamental Informatics and Information Technology", and also choose an individual learning path through the choice of elective modules.
There are the following specialized elective modules in the area of study "Mathematics and Computer Science": "Artificial Intelligence Technologies", "Models for the Analysis of 5G/6G Networks", "Applied Mathematical Modeling", "Basics of Business Intelligence", "Information and Analytical Systems" .
On the direction of training "Fundamental informatics and information technologies" there are the following specialized elective disciplines: "Network technologies", "Methods of artificial intelligence", "Fundamentals of the mathematical theory of teletraffic", "Modeling of economic processes", "Design of corporate infocommunication systems".

Practice

Educational practice and research work are carried out on the basis of the computer center of the Department of Information Technology Support for Low-Current and Telecommunication Systems of the RUDN University, on the basis of the scientific and educational laboratory "Infocommunication Management" of the Department of Applied Informatics and Probability Theory and research centers and laboratories of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Telecommunications of the RUDN University .
Undergraduate practice is carried out in accordance with cooperation agreements on the basis of the Federal Research Center "Informatics and Management" of the Russian Academy of Sciences, LLC "Technologies of System Analysis" and CJSC "RosInternet Technologies".
Students annually have the opportunity to take part in master classes by leading experts and representatives of employers in the real sectors of the economy, Russian and foreign scientists from leading universities and research centers, in academic mobility programs in accordance with cooperation agreements with foreign scientific organizations, in particular Tampere University, Brno University of Technology, Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, University of Pisa, University of Lisbon, King's College London, University of Granada, KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
