Master's degree in the direction of training "Veterinary and sanitary expertise" allows you to deepen the scientific component of professional activity in the field of sanitary and hygienic research of food products and improve the technology of their production.
A veterinary and sanitary expert is a highly qualified specialist who controls the quality and safety of food products. The veterinary and sanitary expert conducts research on food raw materials, as well as food products, identifies products hazardous to health, controls the safety of production conditions and its sanitary condition.
Veterinary and sanitary experts control all stages of production and sale of food products.


Educational Process

A feature of the training program is that the research work is carried out under the guidance of leading industry experts.
Classes are held in laboratories equipped with everything necessary for the educational process, in computer classes and classrooms with multimedia equipment, including for videoconferencing. There is a branch department of the scientific library, as well as access to numerous electronic information databases.
As part of the educational program, students receive professional skills in such activities as conducting veterinary and sanitary examinations to ensure the biological safety of raw materials and products of animal and plant origin; prevention of anthropozoonoses at the enterprises of the processing industry; control over the implementation of veterinary and sanitary measures during export-import operations; ensuring the safety and quality of raw materials and products of biological origin.
The main disciplines of the program: “Veterinary and sanitary examination and biological safety of food raw materials and products”, “State veterinary supervision at subordinate facilities”, “Organization of state veterinary supervision during import and export”, “Veterinary sanitation at enterprises”, “Pathological diagnosis of infectious diseases in slaughter animals”, “Food safety control”, “Mathematical modeling”, etc.


Practice

During the training, students undergo industrial and research practice at large food enterprises, in leading industrial and scientific organizations that are engaged in veterinary and veterinary and sanitary expert activities, the production of safe raw materials of animal and plant origin.
We develop cooperation with international food and agricultural organizations, enterprises of the meat and dairy industry, we practice foreign internships, and participate in international conferences.

The Department of Veterinary Medicine has strong links with many employers. Practices are held at potential workplaces, students attend exhibitions and conferences where they can communicate directly with employers.
