All PhD curriculum is taught in English which allows students to submerge themselves into foreign language environment. From the very first year of studies students are intensively immersed in their future profession. The program is focused on European language level system. PhD students build universal approaches to learning process by comparing different methods and creating their own digital learning guides.
The training goes in line with intercultural communication trends. Students analyze and compare different technologies of foreign languages teaching (for example, European and North American teaching models). The PhD program covers the following disciplines: “Theory and methodology of training and education (foreign languages): intralinguodidactics, intercultural communication”, “Methodology of scientific research”, “Pedagogy of higher education”, “History and philosophy of science”, “Foreign Language”, “Information databases for scientific research and publication”.
Special attention is paid to ethnic stereotypes and ethnocultural aspects of the communicative behavior of representatives of Eastern and Western cultures in verbal, non-verbal and paraverbal communication. Most importantly, PhD students learn to analyze communicative failures in cultural dialogues and polylogues, and see into their causes and possible solutions.

Practice

Within the frame of English-speaking PhD program “Theory and methodology of training and education (foreign languages): intralinguodidactics, intercultural communication” students have teaching practice in higher educational institutions of Moscow and other regions and countries thus obtaining professional experience while still studying.
Teaching practice includes development of guidelines and learning materials and conducting classes in disciplines (modules) of Bachelor, Masters and Extended education programs. For two years PhD program students attend classes of teachers of the department in various academic disciplines; conduct classes independently; develop work programs for academic disciplines (modules), lecture notes for students in a number of academic disciplines; develop programs, teaching aids for the implementation of students’ practical and/or independent work; develop evaluation and methodological materials; form educational and methodological set of documents on the chosen academic discipline.
