Profession

The purpose of the program is to train highly professional researchers in the field of ecology, environmental protection and sustainable development, highly qualified specialists with deep theoretical training, broad erudition, and knowledge of modern scientific methods.
As a result of mastering the program, graduate students acquire the necessary competencies to prepare a final work on the chosen topic, submit and defend a dissertation for the degree of candidate of Science/ PhD. Students of the program receive extensive training, which allows them to specialize in the organization and conduct of environmental monitoring, in the system of recycling of production and consumption waste, biotechnology, quality assessment of raw materials and products, etc. The acquired competencies allow you to work successfully in higher education too.

Educational Process

The three-year postgraduate program allows graduates to take leading positions among scientists and engineers dealing with the most important global environmental problems in the field of climate change, water scarcity, demand for natural resources, waste management of production and consumption, and environmental sustainability of regions and individual enterprises, circular economy.

Practice

Postgraduates undergo research practice depending on the topic of the study. At the same time, it is possible to use modern equipment of the RUDN Collective Use Center. As part of the teaching practice, graduate students conduct seminars and laboratory classes for students of the Faculty of Ecology.

Career

Graduates work in companies that are engaged in mining and processing of minerals, in audit companies and state bodies engaged in environmental control of industrial facilities, in design, survey, research, production consulting, expert departments and departments, and in educational organizations. Labor markets targeted by the program: science/education; consulting; industry, large, small and medium-sized businesses; energy; construction; environmental management; design; municipal and public administration; academic institutions.
