A modern city is a complex organism, the life and “health” of which depends on the work of each of its inhabitants. However, a special role is played here by specialists who ensure the functioning of housing and communal services. At the same time, the ecological component of the city's life is a full – fledged part of their work, along with the preparation and supply of water and heat, garbage collection, maintaining the cleanliness of streets and houses. Housing and utilities facilities are significant sources of negative impacts on the environment. These are the withdrawal of significant areas for the placement of the facilities themselves, the formation of a significant amount of waste in the process of urban wastewater treatment, the formation and need for the disposal of urban waste, the use of anti-ice reagents, etc. Reducing negative environmental impacts is the most important condition for the operation of housing and communal services facilities. The Master’s program “Ecology of Housing and Communal Services” was created by us taking into account modern trends in the development of urban economy.


Educational Process

The training program will allow you to get acquainted with the environmental problems of modern cities, the best available technologies for urban management, modern approaches to assessing permissible man-made loads on the environment. The key disciplines of the program provide the formation of general professional and professional competencies of a specialist in the field of environmental safety of housing and communal services.
The program uses domestic and foreign experience – modern practice and the most effective environmental solutions for the greening of urban economy:
— Municipal waste management systems;
— Water treatment and sanitation technologies;
— Organization of urban park management;
— Energy saving in the city;
— Green construction;
— Engineering surveys for urban construction.
A significant amount of time in the program is devoted to research work. The complex nature of the program involves the active use of modern educational technologies-multimedia, training on simulators, active development of electronic libraries.


Practice

As part of the practical part of the program, students undergo practical training at industrial enterprises, in design and consulting companies engaged in environmental audit, development of project environmental documentation, organization of trainings in the field of environmental safety in housing and communal services.

The diploma of the graduate of the program “Ecology of Housing and communal services” will allow you to fill vacancies of specialists in municipal government bodies, build a career in construction organizations, bodies of Rosprirodnalzor and Rostechnadzor, become part of an international team of specialists in joint ventures. Graduates of the program are ready to solve complex practical tasks:
— conducting an environmental assessment taking into account the specifics of housing and communal services;
— competence in the field of control and audit of environmental safety management systems for housing and communal services, including energy management, energy and resource efficiency;
— development of practical recommendations to ensure the current requirements of environmental safety, energy and resource efficiency of housing and communal services facilities;
— current monitoring of compliance with the requirements of environmental safety, energy and resource efficiency of housing and communal services facilities;
— preparation of reporting of enterprises in the field of environmental safety, energy and resource efficiency of housing and communal services facilities;
