Profession

The main task of this type of diagnosis is to identify or confirm the presence of a pathology that cannot be unambiguously confirmed or disproved by other clinical or instrumental methods. A variety of auxiliary methods can be used for this purpose, and they can be divided into the following groups: 1. Methods that enhance a person's perceptual capabilities, such as optical microscopy. 2. Methods that use characteristic biochemical features of the studied organism, this group includes all serological diagnostic methods. 3. Methods that use the characteristic features of a pathological agent, these include biological and cultural research methods.
Depending on the purpose of the study, one or another set of methods is used to achieve the most complete and accurate answer to the question. The doctor of clinical laboratory diagnostics is responsible for setting and correct results of each analysis.

Educational Process

The training is carried out on the bases of Department of hospital therapy, in clinical units and laboratories of the city clinical hospitals, and also in the laboratory of molecular diagnostics (PCR) of the medical and agricultural institutions of PFUR.
The specifics of the education in residency in clinical laboratory diagnostics at the Department of hospital therapy is the clinical training of a specialist during the entire period of mastering the specialty. That is, during the entire training period, the resident leads patients in clinical departments, at the same time studying and mastering laboratory research methods. The first year of residency, the future specialist is engaged in clinical units, and also residents learn the features of preanalytics at the pre-laboratory stage. After completing the main course, an individual plan is developed for each resident (based on the General training program). The implementation of the individual plan is carried out at various clinical and laboratory units of the Department of hospital therapy, taking into account the abilities and interests of the resident.

Practice

The practice includes a training simulation course and inpatient practice, namely, performing clinical and laboratory research in various areas of clinical laboratory diagnostics; conducting and evaluating the results of quality control of laboratory research; evaluating the results of clinical and laboratory research taking into account the clinical picture; consulting attending physicians of various specialties on clinical laboratory diagnostics.

Career

Modern reality opens up wide opportunities for a young specialist in terms of self-realization. After all, today medicine is impossible without laboratory research. Many diseases can not be identified without the involvement of such a professional. Therefore, a University graduate will find himself in any clinic-public or private. They will also be able to find vacancies in laboratories that function at sanitary and epidemiological stations and forensic departments.
