Profession

Our lifestyle is poor. Improper nutrition, non-compliance, neglect of sports eventually lead to kidney disease. This is where the nephrologist comes to the rescue.
“Nephrology” literally translates as the science of the kidneys. The French doctor Jean Ambouger, who in the 60s of the XX century organized an entire nephrological association, is obligatory for its appearance. As a result, they began to actively research the medical history. The results obtained through a thorough study of renal pathologies laid the foundation for new scientific discoveries and saved the lives of many patients.

Educational Process

Nephrology is a relatively young branch of science, which is actively developing today. A special requirement for the future nephrologist connected with this: the doctor must be extremely attentive and study all the new works of his colleagues in order to keep abreast of all the novelties in the field of nephrology.
Also, upon completion of training, the doctor will be able to diagnose the disease at any stage, prescribe effective treatment and make decisions about the need to operate on the patient; explain to the patient all decisions regarding his treatment, report on the predicted results of treatment; successfully carry out drug treatment and herbal medicine; develop individual diet plans that will be necessary for the successful treatment and prevention of diseases.

Practice

Practice takes place in stationary nephrology departments, a clinic and general departments.

Career

A nephrologist needed everywhere — in clinics, hospitals, medical centers. The nephrologist receives outpatients, treats inpatients, stays on night shifts in the hospital’s emergency room, and saves the lives of patients in intensive care.
