Profession

The specifics of work of a General practitioner (family doctor) are determined by the fact that, in addition to therapeutic education, the doctor has knowledge of narrow medical specialties (otolaryngology, infectious diseases, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology), the doctor is able to make a diagnosis fairly quickly. In addition, by constantly monitoring the family, the doctor also knows the family history, which allows him to minimize the time of examination and allows to fix the disease at the earliest stages of its development.


Educational Process

The educational program of the residency is designed for persons with higher medical education, aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in patients of all ages and genders, for independent work in public health institutions or in private practice. Training is practically oriented in nature and is aimed at the formation of systematic knowledge and professional competencies that allow graduates to carry out medical activities.


Practice

Residents are assigned to clinical bases of the Department, where under the guidance of professors of the Department they have the opportunity not only to expand their knowledge, but also to see their application in practice. Students undergo clinical case reviews, which provides an opportunity to get a rich clinical experience during the residency.


Career

Graduates of the program have the right and opportunity to work in hospitals, clinics, specialized health care institutions, multi-specialty medical institutions, general medical practice centers, family medicine centers, outpatient clinics, rural district hospitals, emergency medical stations.
